Playing Against Bots
Section titled “Playing Against Bots”Bots are computer-controlled players that can join your room and play a match like any other opponent. They are useful when you want to practice, learn a map, test a setup, or fill empty battle slots without waiting for other players.
Add a Bot to a Room
Section titled “Add a Bot to a Room”- Start a new game or open a room where you are the host.
- In the room lobby, click Add Bot.
- The bot joins an open battle slot immediately.
- Start the match when everyone is ready.
Remove a Bot
Section titled “Remove a Bot”- In the room lobby, find the bot in the player list.
- Click Remove bot next to that player.
- The slot becomes available for another bot or a human player.
How Bots Appear
Section titled “How Bots Appear”Bots are easy to spot in the lobby and during the match:
- They are marked with a robot icon.
- Each bot gets a random display name for that match.
- Bots show as ready automatically in the room lobby.
If the ruleset uses factions, the host can also choose or change a bot’s faction before the game starts.
What to Expect In Game
Section titled “What to Expect In Game”Bots take their turns automatically and usually move quickly. They follow the normal rules of the match, so they can move units, attack, capture territory, and play toward victory just like any other player.
Bot names may change from match to match, but they are still AI-controlled players. The name is only for flavor and makes it easier to tell different bots apart.
Good Uses for Bots

Section titled “Practice Games”- Learn movement and combat without waiting for another player
- Try out new openings and unit combinations
- Get comfortable with the interface and turn flow
Map Testing
Section titled “Map Testing”- Check whether a map works well with its current number of players
- Test spawn layouts and travel distances
- See how a match develops on your custom map
Filling Open Slots
Section titled “Filling Open Slots”- Start a game even if your room is not full
- Add extra opponents on maps with more than two battle slots
- Run mixed games with both human and bot players
Limits to Keep in Mind
Section titled “Limits to Keep in Mind”- Bots can be added or removed only before the game starts.
- Bots use the same room rules as the rest of the match.
- There is currently no separate difficulty selection on this screen.
Frequently Asked Questions
Section titled “Frequently Asked Questions”Can I add more than one bot?
Section titled “Can I add more than one bot?”Yes. If the map has open battle slots, you can add multiple bots.
Can I mix human players and bots in the same match?
Section titled “Can I mix human players and bots in the same match?”Yes. A room can include both human players and bots as long as the map supports that number of players.
Can I choose a bot’s faction?
Section titled “Can I choose a bot’s faction?”If the current ruleset uses factions, the host can assign or change a bot’s faction in the room lobby before the match starts.
Do bots need to ready up?
Section titled “Do bots need to ready up?”No. Bots are marked as ready automatically.
Can I add or remove bots after the match has started?
Section titled “Can I add or remove bots after the match has started?”No. Once the game begins, the player list is locked for that match.
Are bots good for learning the game?
Section titled “Are bots good for learning the game?”Yes. Bots are a good way to practice the basics, test ideas, and get comfortable with maps before jumping into more competitive matches.
